iPhone holders need the iTunes program to transfer any files on the computer a keep them on the phone, and while dealing with the program is easy, connecting the phone to the computer via the USB cable every time certainly loses the flexibility of the file exchange process quickly. All you need is to download the application from the App Store on your iPhone and make sure that both devices (phone and computer) are connected together on the same network, or the same router in other words.
After downloading the VLC app on your iPhone, launch it and go to the Network section on the bottom bar of the main interface. You will now see several ways through which you can download videos to your phone using an internet connection, one of these methods is "Sharing via WiFi" or Sharing via WiFi, activate this option. Once you do, you will be presented with an IP address and a direct local link, as shown in the image above, you can use either of them to transfer new videos to the phone via any device on the local network, whether it is a tablet, computer or even another phone.
Now you only need to open the computer where the videos are located, and then run any browser, whether Google Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari if the device is running on a Mac. And you don't need to have VLC installed, just enter the IP address given in the application and then press Enter and the "Share via WiFi" page will appear in front of you as the attached picture.
You can now drag and drop any video you have on your computer into the browser window so that it can be transferred to the VLC library on iPhone seamlessly, or press the plus sign (+) at the top and select the video files and then click Open. And because the transfer process depends on the Wi-Fi speed supported by the router, and not the speed of the contracted connection with the service provider, it will not take long even if the files are of huge sizes, and even faster than if you do this process through iTunes (on experience) .
After the video transfer process is finished, you can open the VLC application on your phone and you will find all the clips listed under the "Video" section, where you can view and watch them directly through the application, or if you want to keep them on the phone's memory even after removing the VLC application, you can do so by Long press on the video and choose “Share” and from the menu that appears, select “Save Video” to be able to play the clip through the “Photos” application, or choose “Save to Files” to save the clip to the Files application with a choice of whether it is stored On iCloud Folder or local storage.
