Downloading YouTube videos is one of the most searched topics on the internet and there are good reasons for that. You can use Google Chrome, Opera, or Microsoft Edge (Firefox is not currently supported) on your computer, then go to the video you want to download and at the bottom of the player you will find a new Download option next to the previous options such as Share and Save the video to a playlist. You can also find this option in the menu that appears after pressing ( ⁝ ) below the thumbnail of any video on the home page of the site. Once you click on this option and the download is complete, a notification will appear under the video confirming that the video is ready to watch offline.
Note that the feature does not download videos externally, that is, download the video in MP4 format and save it to your device, but YouTube stores the videos you download in the browser's cache and can be played only through the site — just like in the app on smartphones. If you want to access the downloaded videos, click on “ Downloads ” from the side menu, and in the event of a disconnection from the Internet on the device, you can access youtube.com and then click on the “Go to the Downloads page” option.
