How much does extra iCloud service cost?

Fortunately, this Apple service is not very expensive. If you want more space from iCloud, you can purchase one of the following subscriptions.

50 GB of monthly space for $ 0.99

2 terabytes of monthly space for $ 9.99
How to have more space on iCloud?
If your iCloud cloud storage is full, it's a good idea to first check what takes up the most space. To do this, you need to enter the Settings section on your iPhone or other Apple products and then tap on your name at the top of the screen, then tap iCloud and then Manage Storage to enter the iCloud memory management section. You can use the following screenshots to better understand the steps.

If you are a macOS user, click on the Apple icon at the top left of the screen to enter the System Preferences section, then click on the Apple ID option and then iCloud and click Manage to enter the section. In this section, all the things that occupy the cloud space will be visible to you with full details.
Delete support data you do not need
If you've used multiple iOS -based devices in recent years , you'll find in your iCloud service that there are different backups for your previous devices. You can easily delete this extra data by following the steps below to have more space.
1 - In your iPhone, enter the Settings section and then touch your name, then touch the iCloud option, then Manage Storage and then Backups.
2 - Now you will see the list of devices from which the backup was made. Each time you touch the name of the device, you will see an option called Delete Backup, which you must set to Off & Delete. This will delete the desired backup file.
3 - You can also tap on the name of your current device and set some apps to not store their data in iCloud. For example, some apps may take up up to 600 MB of space, to prevent this from happening, tap Show All Apps and manually turn off any apps you want to disable. Take a look at the screenshots below to better understand the process.

If you are a macOS user, you can enter these settings as before.
Remove extra images from your image library
This step may be difficult for many of us because naturally no one likes to delete gallery images that are all reminiscent of past memories. But since our main goal here is to free up more space on the iCloud service, we will teach you how to do it. It is also possible to reduce the size of recorded photos and videos by applying some settings, which will also help a lot.
Camera settings
First it is better to go to these settings in the camera. Sometimes reducing the resolution of the videos we record can be very helpful, as 720p can often be enough and we do not need to record 4K or 1080p video.
1 - On your iOS or iPadOS device, enter the Settings section, then Camera and then Formats. Set this section to High Efficiency mode to save storage space. Note that this will save all your photos and videos in HEIF and HEVC formats, which are not as common as JPG and MP4.
2 - Now enter the Record Video section in the same camera settings. It is better to choose the lowest resolution and frame rate in this section to occupy the least space for videos. Yes, it is true that in this case, the quality and frame rate of your videos will decrease, but sometimes you have to sacrifice quality to have space. Scroll down in this area and enable the Auto Low Light FPS option to automatically adjust the frame rate in night light videos.
3 - Return to the main part of the camera settings and touch Record Slo-Mo and select the lowest option for resolution and frame rate.
4 - But the last thing that is not necessary but can save a lot of space is the Live Photo feature. You can disable this feature by going to camera settings and then Preserve Settings. The next time you enter the camera app, a yellow circle will appear at the top right of the screen, which means that if the color is gray, the feature is disabled.

Note that the above is to reduce the size of the images you capture, now it's time to remove the useless items from the gallery.
Delete useless images

1 - Let's first go to the largest files in the gallery, namely videos. Open the Photos app, then tap Videos from Albums. Now you can select or mark the videos you do not want by tapping Select at the top of the page and then delete them.

2 - Like the above method in Albums, you can view other sections such as Long Exposure, Burst Mode, Panoramas, Slo-Mo, Time Lapse, Screenshots and Screen Recordings and delete unnecessary items.

3 - Finally, you can find and delete additional images through the main page of the gallery. This helps a lot in freeing up storage space.
Delete old text messages

If the Messages app is listed in the iCloud service list as apps that take up a lot of space, it's a good idea to go to it now and delete old text messages. To do this, you must perform the following steps.

1 - Enter the Settings section and then touch the Messages option.

2 - Now scroll down to the Keep Messages option, change this option from Forever mode to 30 Days or 1 Year or set it to Delete. This will save your messages on your device after 30 days or a year or never, and will not take up extra space.

3 - Now let's identify and delete conversations that have taken up a lot of space. Go to Settings and tap on your name and go to iCloud and then Manage Storage and then Messages. Touch Top Conversations. This section will show you which conversations have a high volume.

4 - Touch Edit and select the chats you want. Then delete them by tapping the trash can icon.

5 - If you do not want to delete chats completely, you can enter the info section by touching the contact name and then scroll down to reach Photos. Then, by clicking the See All option, you can view all the multimedia content in this chat and delete the unnecessary items manually to free up more space.

Delete large files from iCloud Drive

If you use the iCloud service on several different devices, it is best to check that the junk or useless files do not take up extra space. Launch the Files app on iOS and iPadOS , then tap iCloud Drive. Then check if the file or folder is unnecessary to delete. On the macOS operating system , you can also enter this section by opening the Finder and clicking on the iCloud Drive option from the sidebar.
ICloud should not be your only backup service

Most iCloud features are more in the form of sync services (Sync) than a backup tool. Although the difference between the two processes is very small, it can change the way you use and treat these services. Imagine if you delete an image from your iPhone it will also be deleted from iCloud! You might say no, the pictures stay in the Trash for up to 30 days, yes, but after these 30 days you will lose your pictures forever.

A true backup service allows you to save files and data that no longer exist on your phone or device to another location in the future. For example, if you store your data and images on your PC hard drive, it is much better and more secure to store them on iCloud cloud. For this reason, we recommend that you back up all your data to another device before performing any of the above tricks. We hope you find today's tutorial useful.
